St. Patrick’s Day at Doherty’s is always a big deal around here, and this year marks our 14th year celebrating it. Every March the pub fills up with live music, Irish food, and a lot of familiar faces coming together to celebrate. If you’ve joined us before, you know how much fun the day turns into. If you haven’t made it out yet, this is the year to do it!
The celebration starts the Saturday after the Raleigh St. Patrick’s Day Parade, 3/14, when the energy from downtown carries right into the afternoon festivities at the pub. Live music kicks off in the afternoon and into the evening. It’s a great time to grab a drink, settle in with friends, and enjoy the music and the lively atmosphere that feels right at home in an Irish pub.
Then on St. Patrick’s Day, the celebration keeps rolling with live entertainment throughout the day. You’ll catch Irish bands, performances from Irish dancers, and of course the bagpipes making their way through the crowd.
The kitchen will be turning out all the Irish classics people look forward to this time of year, Corned Beef and Cabbage, Shepherd’s Pie, Bangers and Mash, Fish and Chips, Reubens, Beef and Guinness Stew, just to name a few. And while St. Patrick’s Day is a great excuse to highlight those dishes, the truth is traditional Irish food is part of our menu every day. It’s what we’ve built our reputation around and what our kitchen does best, not just a once-a-year feature.
Behind the bar, you’ll find Irish staples like Guinness, Harp, and Smithwick’s, along with a deep lineup of Irish whiskey. Whether you’re stopping in for a pint, dinner with friends, or a full afternoon of music and celebration, there’s always a reason to raise a glass.
Reservations are available online for indoor dining, with table times set to one hour so more guests can grab a seat during one of the busiest days of the year. Outside, the party keeps going with an outdoor bar, takeout food station, and plenty of space to hang out and enjoy the music.
St. Patrick’s Day at Doherty’s has become one of our favorite traditions of the year. The music, the food, the crowd, it all comes together in a way that just feels right for the holiday.
So grab some friends, wear a little green, and come celebrate with us. ☘️❤️
